Education Framework Selected as Top 10 Finalist in Innovation Incubator Program

Company Touts Product’s Ability to Become Industry Standard

May 5, 2015 Bend, OR – Education Framework Inc. has been selected by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as a top 10 finalist in the 2015 Ed Tech Industry Summit Innovation Incubator program. Education Framework showcased their student data privacy solution, EdProtect, at the Education Industry Summit: Navigating the New, May 4 at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco. Awards will be presented today to the “Most Innovative” and the “Most Likely to Succeed” based on the votes of conference attendees.

Over fifty applicants were assessed for the 2015 Innovation Incubator program on a broad range of criteria, including the level of originality and innovation, representation of K-12 / post-secondary market levels, end user impact and market need for the innovation.

“Our finalists have developed innovative solutions that truly address the changing needs of K-20 students, educators, and administrators,” said Karen Billings, vice president of SIIA's Education Division.

Education Framework develops enterprise software that protects student privacy. Their cloud-based software solution, EdProtect, is the first-ever online student data privacy manager. It assesses the privacy of apps and websites used in the classroom, connects parents, teachers, and administrators, and monitors the entire student data privacy workflow with transparency and accountability.

“The magic of EdProtect is that it takes the guesswork out of managing student privacy,” says Jim Onstad, President and Co-Founder of Education Framework. “Teachers and administrators now have a way to quickly determine the safety rating of apps and websites, obtain parental consent (when necessary), and track the apps and websites that are used in the classroom.”

EdProtect is a bundled solution that blends student privacy and digital signatures for a powerful all-in-one package that streamlines the student privacy management process.

“We like to think of it as a smarter way to handle student privacy,” says Onstad. “With safety, simplicity and sustainability in mind, EdProtect is poised to become the industry standard for privacy management in U.S. K-12 schools.”

Adding “Student privacy is a big issue with real-life consequence. We understand the depth and complexity of the issue and want to help schools get out in front of it.”
